El Mayimbe
here chilling in my new Latino Swinging Bachelor Pad! I just got
me my plastic slipcovers for my furniture, my red cortinas (curtains),
and the cool beads hanging over the entrance to my kitchen. Mackin'
to the max folks!
I
still can't believe that mi gente actually paid money to go see
Chasing Pinga (what technically the movie is really about if you
think about). That only proves that there are suckers born every
minute. I'm like, "if your dumb and corny enough to use your
foodstamps to go see this flick then you deserve to be taken."
I hear the knuckleheads over at Telemundo and Univsion are trying
to get the rights to the characters and turn it into another chessy
soap opera called "Tres Tontas y un Pendejo!" (Three
chickenheads and a dummy)
The studio responsible for C.P is also the same studio which redeemed
themselves by making the film which I'm about to review X2!
20th Century Fox outdid themselves with X2 and get's a bendicion
from me (a blessing).
Simply
put "When this movie comes out Friday, it's gonna make Drug
Dealin' Dollars!"
I was lucky enough to score a screening to this last week and
this movie is off the gancho (off da meathook)!
I'm a big time Wolverine fan from back in the Frank Miller days
and Wolverine makes this movie. Period! Hugh Jackman is the man!
Simply put, Wolverine is the Latin Man's superhero! He's got attitude,
he smokes blunts, he drinks Dos Equis beer, he tries to take another
man's (Cyclops) lady (Jean Grey) whithout caring what her man
thinks, and he steals that dudes ride. Dame eso coño! Wolverine
balls are so big in this movie he shouldn't wear those nuthugger
jeans he sports.
The furious opening of the movie starts off with an assasination
attempt on the leader of the free world. I'm not gonna spoil it
for you but the kicker is that the government has secretly decided
to take down the mutants led by a strike team spearheaded by Col.
Stryker (Brian Cox). Stryker convinces the U.S. president that
a military course must be taken against the mutants. The President
grants Stryker his wish and launches a secret military operation
against professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), and his School
for the Gifted.
Wolverine
remains the focus among the mutants and while he is off in Canada
looking to solve the mysteries of his secret Weapon X origin he
discovers nothing, his only discovery now is coming from unsettling
flashbacks. He returns to Professor X and decides to chill for
a hot minute with the X-Men. That is till the school for the gifted
is attacked, and that's when Wolverine gets Canadian like a hockey
player and kicks culo all over that place.
Meanwhile
Jean Grey, Storm (Halle "Diablo que bella" Berry) go
off in search of the assassin [Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler] from
the beginning. As the X-Men try to figure out what really happened
at that white house, their only hope may lie with their former
enemies, Magneto and Mystique. And Mystique plays a big role in
this film.
There
are some new X-Men for familiar fans like Iceman, Collosus, and
a supercool fire freak Pyro. There are also some new mutant enemies
also specifically, a hot chinita named Lady Deathstrike (Kelly
Hu) whose got these Dominican Beauty Salon cha-cha nails as weapons.
The action
in this movie is good when presented (especially the beginning)
and the movie has a good and surprise ending. Overall, a good
time and a good popcorn movie.
