A Little Less Communications, A Little More Action

A Little Less Communications, A Little More Action Will fans see a different side of Uhura when Star Trek 2 eventually hits the big screen? Though no official details about the sequel are out yet, I and a few other journos recently got to chat with Zoe Saldana about what her hopes are for the new film. At the time she hinted that her character Uhura, who serves as chief communications officer aboard the USS Enterprise, might be seeing a bit more action -- at least if she has anything to say about it.
[With Star Trek] I had so much fun but the boys got all the action. J.J. [Abrams] promised me that in the sequel [Uhura] will have at least one little fight scene. I'm like, "Just let me kick a guy in the groin or something."

According to a Variety article from this March, Paramount Pictures has hired Roberto Orci, Damon Lindelof, and Alex Kurtzman to write the screenplay for the sequel, and they intend to complete it by the end of the year in anticipation of a summer release in 2011.

So, let's hear it: what are your hopes for Star Trek 2? Do you want a more butt-kicking Uhura, or would you be happy with just a little less lens flare?
