A Look At Speed Racer's 'Pops'

Found this picture on a ...geez I have no clue...Russian? Kerplakistanian? website.
What is it? It's a picture of John Goodman as Pops from Speed Racer!
Who is the guy with him? Since he's dressed the same as Pops Racer maybe he's the stunt double? Stand-in? Pops Racer's biggest fan? Again I don't know...I can't read Kerplakistani.
The color is a bit off from the cartoon, Pops had a red shirt but I guess that Pops is okay in blue since I think, as a whole, Speed Racer is going to suck anyway.
And is it me or does Goodman look like he's lost weight?
