Let me start off by saying that I'm really hesistant about a new Predator movie. I'm just as hesistant about a new Aline film. I think Hollywood has managed to screw up both franchises. So why should a new Predator movie be any different?
For one thing, the casting seems pretty good. It's a good mix of actors and it's nice to see they aren't just going with a bunch of muscle guys against the Predators. Coming Soon has more from director Nimrod Antal:
"Again, it was a challenge in finding a balance. I think when we cast Adrian, there were a lot of people going, 'What?' but at the same time, if we cast a Vin Diesel in that role or if we cast anyone who is Arnold-esque, we would have been attacked for doing that. So we decided early on to go in a very different direction as far as the casting process, but it turned out fantastic. He plays a mercenary in the film and if you look at the guys in Iraq and Afghanistan today, they're not 'yolked-out' Schwarzenegger-looking guys. They're all very wiry and thin guys, and I think it's going to play well."

So hopefully this one will pan out to be a pretty cool Predator movie. Although I think the Predators will be able to spot that nose of Adrien Brody from a mile away without the assistance of infra-red or heat seeking tracking devices. And if the third act goes the way I think it will, it'll be Adrien Brody's schnozola vs. a lone Predator. May the best ugly face win.
