Dunst Back for Spider-Man 4?

As of April, Sam Raimi was none too sure whether Kirsten Dunst would be up for appearing in Spider-Man 4. But now Raimi's saying that Dunst's, and in turn Mary Jane's, inclusion in the film all depends on how it works in the script.
“Kirsten? I have talked with her, and she's very excited about the possibility of it,” said Raimi. “I think I'm going to have to read the screenplay and make sure everything we've talked about is working, before I could honestly tell you absolutely how [Dunst's possible return] would go.”
As for when he'll be seeing that script, that could be as early as June.
Explained Raimi, “Right now, David Lindsay-Abaire, a New York playwright, is working on the screenplay. He says that he'll be done in about four weeks with his first draft. So that's where I am right now. And I'm just about to hire a production skeleton.”

I think that for the story to go on MJ has to be in the movie, but with much less drama!.

Just keep her busy doing something else besides getting fired an all that stuff, give a "Mc Farlane" angle and keep her the most out of the story.....Let's bring back Gwen Stacy and let her show off those caffs(lower legs) again (I LIKES!)

ugh. i'm tired of seeing all that sagging and snaggle-toothing that comes with dunst. if they want to cut some dead weight from the franchise they should really cut dunst out. how did this franchise manage to uggo her up so much?

everyone knows the franchise is is need of a reboot, but even weak acting can be corrected with good directing. I only hope they can choose the right villain to bring deserved vitality back to it

I'm in the minority here but for the McGuire "Parker" she fits! If Tobey was not Parker then yes I'd say change her but their chemistry works even in 3... She just needs to glam up more look the part of a Model/Actress and you know what she has a great pair of "eyes" that I think is what made MJ stand out from Gwen in the comics! Jeez Kirsten, USE THEM! If there was ever a reason it's Spidey, c'mon now now! BTW if Kim Kardashian knew how to act and dyed her hair a deep crimson red she would be MJ from the comics, no doubt about it. Unfortunately shes an attention whore and would completely destroy whatever shred of dignity this franchise had of getting back to when Spider-Man 2 premiered!

I truly hope Mary Jane & Aunt May get killed off in the first ten minutes of Spider Man 4, nothing but road blocks between Spidey and better adventures. Superheroes cant have girlfriends.

Dunst was popular... ONCE! Stiff acting and semi-attractiveness add up to she no should be Mary Jane. Its kinda like X-men.... once Marvel gets those rights back from Fox(XM3 and Origins.. I shat myself in disgust) You kinda want them to keep Wolvie but recast that other crap. If Bryce wasn't rather chunky she would have been a great MJ.

While she could be prettier, changing casts in mid-series sucks. It's still the series that started in 2002 so it should still have Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane if at all possible.

Tobey, Kirsten and co, like them as I do, still all look like they're teenagers. Let's cast a Spider-Man who looks like he's actually a man, not a boy, and introduce some va-va-voom in the shape of the Black Cat. The childlike, sweet, innocent qualities of the cast were charming for the first two movies, but by the fourth film you really want to see the characters growing up a little.

how is peter parker expected to put his life on the line every time to save this chick who looks like an 18 year old boy? lindsay lohan, emma stone, or bryce dallas howard blow dunst out of the water. besides, she was such a self-centered, needy bitch in the last film that it might be time for peter to trade up.
