A lot of indie filmmakers make shorts or trailers to hopefully sell their features. Michael Davis is our most famous example as he created
animatics to help sell
SHOOT’EM UP! Well, Alex and his partner Dan made one hell of a kick ass
JAPANESE ANIME STYLE SHORT as a prequel to his live action feature
RED PRINCESS BLUES! Alex and Dan literally made their Japanese anime short in their garage and the execution is absolutely exceptional!
Over the weekend, it was announced that 6 anime style shorts are going to be used for
BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT. The
ANIMATRIX did the same sort of thing a couple of years ago to bridge
The Matrix films. Japanese anime seems to be all the rage these days. The fact that some indie filmmakers out of South Florida have taken the same Japanese anime route as the studios and delivered the same kind of quality is wickedly cool!

The file is a little big, so give it a couple of minutes to load. Check it out because we only have the short exclusively for 30 days before it starts making the festival rounds.
The short is about “Princess,” a 12 year old girl little girl who finds herself in a strange country looking for her father. She is taken in by a unique looking man who goes by Nino. The short film is completely from the perspective of Princess and what she is going through. She soon discovers the
