Ferrigno Talks Hulk Cameo
By Ryan 'The Rican with the Irish name' McLelland on October 24, 2007
Unless you are too young to remember or really just don't care, Lou Ferrigno played The Incredible Hulk in the 1978-1982 TV series and later in three Hulk Movie-Of-The-Week films. Since then the famous bodybuilder played the neighbor in King of Queens and is pretty much known for being...The Hulk.
Ferrigno just filmed his second movie Hulk cameo (the first came in the original Eric Bana film - playing a security guard with Hulk creator Stan Lee) and he seems to have liked his experience says MTV Movies Blog.
“I was in the movie. I just finished filming,” said Ferrigno. “It’s a spectacular movie. Very impressive.”
On new Hulk star Edward Norton and his writing the script to be more akin to the original television show - coupled with Bruce Jones 'Return of the Monster' storyline Ferrigno said, "I believe he rewrote the script because he’s very involved with the character. He’s not just doing another movie, he wanted to be involved with the character. I think that’s going to bring it to the next level.”
“[Ed actually] reminds me a lot of Bill Bixby,” Ferrigno says. Bill Bixby played the original David Banner. Not Bruce Banner...because TV execs thought the name 'Bruce' sounded gay. I'm not lying...that's what the racists said back in the seventies! “He has a similar physique, similar personality. Ed is a very fine actor and it adds tremendous credibility for him to be involved with the movie.”
