I don't know anything about Avatar: The Last Airbender and I don't ever care to. I know I'm supposed to be all knowledgeable about the upcoming movies but this anime shit just boggles my mind. Everything has flames or someone can shoot ice out of their asshole or jump 5000 feet into the air for no apparent reason other than to fight in the air when the ground is a perfectly fine place to execute an anime triangle choke hold.
So when USA Today got the first two pictures of the characters from Avatar, I had to shake my head and move on. I don't know the characters, it looks like Dragonball and every bad guy has to always stand next to a bunch of rocks. I guess a lot of shit happens in the mountains.
So here's your first look at Noah Ringer, who plays Avatar. He shaved his head, which puts him in the same class as Demi Moore and my uncle who lost his hair 25 years ago.
Click the pic below to also see the bad guy. Who of course, can manipulate fire. Don't know how that makes you fire proof but whatever. Let him stand in the middle of a bunch of flames. None of it makes any sense anyway.
 And if you're still on the fence about this movie possibly sucking, it's directed by M. Night Shalpuddingbukkakepoopoopeepee. So ya, this is one party I'm glad I'm not invited to. Kiss my M. Night Shymaarse and  |

I watch the animated series, and I think this pictures looks fine. Is like you never seen Batman or Superman, and suddenly, yo see a picture with a real person in costume, you might think it looks silly. I think that you shouldn't make a comment if you never seen Avatar The Last Airbender, and if you don't know anything about it, just shut your fucking mouth

Yeah, the kid does look like Ang. The picture is wrong though, Ang is not that serious on the Anime show. But I do agree with Hank, if you do not know the source material, how can you criticize it?
But I am worried that M. Night is directing. I really loved his first couple of movies but Lady in the Water and the Gathering were bad. So, I guess I will just wait and see .

I was reading up on this kid. Apparently he already keeps his head shaved and he's been in martial arts for some time and actually has a black belt. So it could be more interesting seeing him fight that most other actors.

yeah, the pictures aren't that good. But stills can often look stupid and when you see that stuff in love action they can look much better. I agree with others that the comments made by El Guapo are frankly, misplaced. I get not wanting to know the source material, whatever, that's your choice. But all of the fire in the second picture makes a great deal of sense given the character.

Does anyone know if the creators of the Anime style series are involved in the movie? I have seen the series and it is actually well made. So I am hoping that the creator of Avatar are involved somehow.

I'm no genius but I think this is how it works....don't reviewers look up and learn about the movie?! I mean that's your job , right? Well your pretty much sucking at it, how bout you "professionally" look up the show and the plot line and then review it . And don't get me wrong you can not like the movie, you have an opinion but really get smart and look up your facts before you "review", oh and haha! I BET the only reason you started judging this movie is bc M. Night is directing it! My response: he might not be the BEST writter but he's a good director(oh yeah you don't know your homework by the way he didn't write it bc{ you should know this} it's an animated series) it's already written by the creators ofrnThe show. But yeah don't give us Latino reviewers a bad name peace!
