Gears Of War Scoop

El Mayimbe here...Stu Beattie finally delivered the draft of GEARS OF WAR. 116 pages dated 7-31-07. It totally rocks! I rate it an A- As always, Stu Beattie delivers like he did with Splinter Cell and Without Remorse. The script like the beat sheet described earlier is balls to the wall hard core action and mayhem. I was going to do a script review but we would be repeating what we already revealed when we first looked at the beat sheet or treatment of the film which you can check out "HERE" There you find all the details for the first half of the script. The script is basically a prequel to the game. It's the origin of Emergence Day and ends when Marcus Fenix is locked up for four years. I never played the game, I am holding out for when it comes out for Windows so that I can play in all it's Direct X 10 glory on my Geforce 8800 ultra this holiday season. The beats are primarily the same, some minor changes and adjustments but I think the script rocks. The other scoop is that sources tell me that not only does New Line like Len Wiseman for Gears Of War but the script is out to four other directors. I think Len is a solid choice. We''ll see what happens. I'm pretty depressed about how poorly GI JOE is being treated to be cheerful about anything else right now, but at least Stu took me out of my funk for a few.
