Ghostbusters 3 May Start In Winter. Aykroyd Wants New Female Crew.

Ghostbusters 3 May Start In Winter. Aykroyd Wants New Female Crew. While a lot of us are excited about a third Ghostbusters, a lot of us aren't excitied about what they plan on doing with it.

The LA Times had a chat with Dan Aykroyd about the third film, and I gotta tell you, the script had better be good. I'm still not sold on the idea of bringing in a new generation of Ghostbusters. I just don't see the point.

Anyway, here's Dan talking about what he'd like to see as far as a new team:

Aykroyd says he believes the movie will move forward but that he has also learned that "at any second everything could blow up." The details of story are still in play, but Aykroyd said he's hoping for a five-member "new generation" team with several female members. "I'd like it to be a passing-of-the-torch movie. Let's revisit the old characters briefly and happily and have them there as family but let's pass it on to a new generation."

Who does Aykroyd think would be good in the jumpsuits? Aykroyd mentioned two names, Alyssa Milano (who is a voice in the upcoming "Ghostbusters" video game) and Eliza Dushku. "I think they're amazing," he said. "And I'm excited about the whole idea of getting this done."

Are you fucking kidding me? Alyssa Milano and/or Eliza Dushku? How much weed do you think Dan smokes on a daily basis, because I would never watch a Ghostbusters 3 with these guys in it. Shoot, I don't even want to see it at all now. The whole thing sounds like a major train wreck.

What do you guys think? With Hollywood's hard on for young actors taking every role it looks like we're going to be stuck with a new generation of Ghostbusters, whether we want it or not.

Shit, I don't mind new. Think of Ghostbusters has having become a business, and the founders aren't in the streets anymore. But how about some heavy hitting comedians? A vince Vaughn, Luke WIlson, Will Ferrell reunion ghostbusters would kick ass as the younger generation. But these two bitches? Please. How about Miley Cyrus and and that CA beauty queen that hates gays. Lets make it really interesting
Old guys with proton packs

I don’t like the idea of young Ghostbusters!!, i wouldn’t mind seeing the old cast in they’re late ages catching ghost in NY city, i mean how can you replace this guys?? Is obvious that they’re looking forward for more movies of the new GB franchise with this move.
Wow

Both of those women are hot but that would be retarded to have female ghostbusters (no offense to women). And passing the torch??? Kind of lame. Keep the old balls in it and have it focus on Murray for most of it since he carries the franchise on his back.
Hmm...

with most or all of the original Ghostbusters characters involved, wouldn't that alone merit enough star power to allow them to cast unknown actors? even relative unknowns?
Passing the torch?

While I don't like the premise, if I had to pick 4 new Ghostbusters, I'd go with: - Paul Rudd - Rainn Wilson - Aziz Ansari - Michael Cera (as Oscar Venkman)

Why don't they have Egon accidentally travel back through time, causing an alternate reality where he meets the younger version of Peter Venkman and has to convince him to join starfleet?
the slime is on the rise..

im a massive GB fan. Hell I have all the props! But what in the hell are they doing? Dan that idea sounds awful mate! If you wanna pass the torch on, do it to comedians or comic actors. After all GB was born in comedy with John Belushi & Dan Akyroyd before becoming a movie with..comic actors! Im all for Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell and the likes to strap on proton packs. Not this nonsense Dan is suggesting..it'll make GB2 look oscar worthy!

I agree with everyone else about a Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson and Michael Cera combo..that would rock. Eliza Dushku would actually be cool as a female GB..Alyssa M would suck balls.
Dan Akroyd has no tact.

He should spend more time securing finances and less time blabbing about which actresses he thinks are cute.
I have an idea!

So here's an idea...have the original crew die in an accident while ghostbusting, and come back as ghosts to mentor a crew of former rejected ghostbusters (played by comedy actors) to stop a current crew of hardcore ghostbusters (played by younger Hollywood friendly "talent") who've been possessed by a ghost who wants to free the other ghosts trapped in the containment chamber at Ghostbuster HQ. Hilarity ensues. Mr. Aykroyd, call me, we'll talk details. ;o)
My perfect Cast

I was all for this movie i have been waiting forever for this film but this is the plan this has disaster writin all over it...Was really excited... Now no way if they are going to cast these actresses.... I don't want to see woman ghostbusting at all that would be awful just awful...This should be the new ghostbuster cast these guys would be perfect... Ryan Reynolds, Kevin James, Colin Hanks, Anthony Anderson, or Dane Cook instead of Ryan Reynolds you need a Bill Murray type comedian who is a smart ass... Ryan or Dane would work well...
Why not remake the first movie

All you people suggestion Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, etc. Really need to go back and watch the Ghostbusters movies. You need to study styles of comedy and realize why the actors chosen for that movie, and their styles, made the whole film work. Then go watch older movies and realize what made those classics. Actors like Will Ferrell, while funny in his own style of film, could never work in a Ghostbusters movie. It's just not his style of comedy. His style is I'm an idiot. And that's about it. The Ghostbusters are actually very intelligent. The humor in Ghostbusters is more subtle. It's more straight man humor. People are forgetting this when casting these comedians who always play stupid roles. The only popular actor I could possibly see in Ghostbusters would be Paul Rudd. But that's only if the rest of the usual Apatow crew stays far away.
