Green Lantern News From Writer Marc Guggenheim
By George 'El Guapo' Roush on September 14, 2008
Comiccon has a really good article and interview with writer Marc Guggenheim on the Amazing Spider-Man turn of events that erased his marriage to Mary Jane Watson. While I'm pretty sick and tired of Marvel screwing with their own storylines, at least A Brand New Day isn't as big of a disaster as Marvel pussing out on their own clone story they did over a decade ago with the Scarlet Spider/Ben Reilly series.

Marc talks about reinventing the Spider-man series and also gives an update on The Green Lantern feature film:

"I've been working my ass off on Green Lantern," he said, then laughed. "I'm ready for a weekend off. I really can't say too much about it. I've sworn a blood oath of secrecy. I will tell you it features Hal Jordan and is an incredibly faithful rendition of the character. It honors everything everyone loves about the hero. We approach it from a fan's perspective. Every step of the way, we ask ourselves what we want to see and what the fans will want to see. I think we have a script that will actually satisfy on those levels. Right now I'm just doing a rewrite for the studio with Greg [Berlanti] and Michael [Green]. We'll turn that in next week. We just keep moving forward. It's really good stuff!"

Warners will fuck it up, especially when they see the budget and want to make it "dark" and "brooding" because that is the course for EVERY DC character now, right?
make it DARK!

Well since Hal Jordan does go insane, destroys the Lantern Corps and beats down on some DC heroes, sacrifices himself to save the sun it should be dark and brooding. This ain't the cartoons my man.
