Ok, so I guess the news was a shock to all of us when it came to the sudden switch in casting from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle in Iron Man 2. I still think it's probably because Terrence could be a total nutjob but that's my opinion, and I have a small brain so opinions like that are all I can come up with.
Even though Don is a great actor, most feel he doesn't really fit the role of James Rhodes or as the ass kicking War Machine. While these are opinions normal people share with each other while at work or on comic book forum boards, there are those who like to take things to the next level. Like the goofball who came up with this:
 That's right. Somebody took the time to register the name howardnotcheadle.com, pay for it, write this fancy little page, then start an online petition. I swear to God, nothing says, "rabid obsession" and "why can't I get laid", like a comic book fan. Piss these dudes off, and you gotta deal with dumb (but funny) crap like this.
Of course, Paramount and Marvel could give two shits about this petition, because they're just trying to get this sequel made. And by actually posting this, I'm giving the thing more juice. I just thought it was pretty hilarious. Personally? I'm not signing some retarded petition that deals with a change in actors in a super hero movie. Now if the government starts taxing hookers, then we're gonna have a problem.

dont think its stupid for there to be a petition online supporting Howard's right to portray Rhodes and not Cheadle. Childish opinion there buddy. But neways, Cheadle is a damn good actor but is needs to stay away from War machine role, Howard did it well and it still sucks that they fucked him over.

i really expected to see Terrence Howard reprise his role as Rhodey and eventually wear the War Machine armor. he played the character really well and it really sucks that Marvel had to switch actors, especially when it's a major character in the Iron Man mythos. in a way, it kind of ruins the continuity of seeing the same actors reprising their Marvel characters in this whole build up towards the Avengers film.
anyway, Don Cheadle is a fine actor too and perhaps one of my favorite to watch on-screen. i have faith in him! Iron Man 2 will be awesome!

I thought Terrence was pretty cool, but the speaking voice he chose for a military bad ass like Rhodes was a little too wimpy...he almost came across as a pansy. My first, honest, gut reaction in the theatre was that Howard could have lowered his voice just a little...go watch it again. Am I right or am I right? Other than that, IRONMAN was flawless! I prefer continuity myself, but I guess Marvel had their reasons.

Apparently Cheadle asked for too much money for the sequel and the studio held their ground. They we're supposedly willing to pay him top money for a supporting role, but Cheadle saw the role more as one of a co-star seeing as he played one of the heroes but the studio would'nt agree. Guess we'll only be able to tell who was right once we've seen the film.

I'll say it once and I'll say it again, they should have gotten Michael Jai White (Al Simmons in Spawn, the black mafia boss in Dark Knight who the Joker kills) in the first place.

Terrance Howards part can be played by anyone. If I were the director, producer etc and this guy was being a problem (e.g. asking for absurdly higher pay) I would not hesitate to replace him with any other black man.

Based on Cheadle's last movie where he's an ex government op or something like that, I can see him filling in an action role, but it's just annoying to have such an obvious inconsistency in a major franchise. Cheadle will be good though. No biggie. Chill!

They should of had someone like Don Cheadle to play Rhodes in the first place. He's a brilliant actor and with some conditioning towards becoming the character of Rhodes (War Machine), he'd be a shoe in. Terrence Howard was an okay Rhodes, but didn't leave me too much amazed. I'm content with either Cheadle or Howard being good ol' Rhodey but I'd like to see Cheadle pick up the War Machine armor

Well both actors are decent but if DON needs to buff up an Howard needs to get more into character but i really think Michael Jai White(AKA) SPAWN would really be the best choice voice,attitude,an physique are some of the main reasons an he really seems to fit Rhodie's character the most from the comic's look at how he did in Exit wound's an Dark Knight !! Attitude is the winner i think

I'm Glad that got rid of that robot called actor, after seeing the movie all i could say was "man that guy sucked" so i'm GLAD he is gone, Don is a great actor and will pull it off no problem. remember war machine was a pilot not a body builder, so those who think he needs to buff up..... relax.
