Highlander: There will be another one!
By Edgar 'El Toro' Arce on May 21, 2008

Well on the heels of the Iron Man movie success, the scribes from that film will take part in a Highlander redo. According to the trades, Summit Entertainment will do a new version of the cult favorite, Highlander.
The original "Highlander" starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown as immortal beings battling humans, hunting down one another and collecting more power. Lambert played Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod, Connery portrayed an Egyptian and Clancy was a barbarian known as the Kurgan. The film -- with its "There can be only one" catch phrase -- spawned four sequels and three television series.
While Summit acquired the rights to take on the film, Peter Davis, one of the original producers of the 1986 film, also will produce the new film. Davis says that they will take elements of all the films to make the film more youthful, and fresh, while also incorporating prequel aspects as well.
Davis adds that although Highlander is a film that sword fighting, and a very macho theme, romance was and still will be the heart of the story. The idea of an immortal falling in love with a woman whom he knows will ultimately grow old and die makes for a dramatic story line.
Honestly, isn’t that the dream of every guy out there? What do you think?
