HSM 3 Comes In #1 Two Weeks In A Row. Zack And Miri Make A Poor No. 2
By George 'El Guapo' Roush on November 02, 2008
For two weeks in a row now, the super popular High School Musical 3 comes in at #1 making just over $15 million bringing its two week total to almost $52 million dollars. I wonder if Disney is kicking themselves in the ass for not releasing the others in the theater.

Kevin Smith continues to show that his movies suck at the box office, doing just about the same business as all of his other releases coming in number 2 with just over $10.5 million dollars. But with Role Models, Madagascar 2 and Soul Men coming out next week, not to mention Bond in two weeks, Zack & Miri will be making porno's on DVD pretty soon. At least this Kevin Smith movie is worth watching, so we'll see how it does next week.

Saw V dropped by 66% making just $10.1 million bringing its two week total to almost $46 million. Doesn't matter now with Saw 6 already a go.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua continues to show legs as it climbs toward $100 million domestically (it's already reached it worldwide) coming in 6th place with $4.8 million. It's now at $84 million. We here at Latinoreview will continue to closely monitor this film because it is a complete triumph for the Latino community. Latinos have now proven to the world that people will come see their movies as long as they're portrayed as small ass annoying dogs. A giant media step from the days of Taco Bell commercials.

Max Payne continues its drop towards DVD land fighting for shelf space with Pride and Glory and Body of Lies as box office bombs.

Only minus the occasional classic. A steady workman remaking the same movie over and over again with modest results. Mediocrity at the core...
The same movie over and over again?

How is "Dogma" like "Clerks"? It's obvious they're not the same. I'm taking a stab that it's about his writing style, the guy just likes to write dialogue. But that would be like saying Tarantino makes the same movie over and over again. Saying that he's mediocre is funny because Tarantino and Rodriguez both said they liked "Clerks 2" and thought it was an appropriate sequel. I agree with Alex's answer. What also helps Kevin Smith is that he already has his own fan base that continues to grow. Overall, Smith is humble about who is and where he's at in life. In no way claims to be a great director, but then again Martin Scorsese had a conversation with Smith asking his opinion about "Gangs of NY" after a screening. Scorsese must think Smith is good at something if he's asking for his opinion.

Ha! A liquid shit blow-back on Smith and his chucklehead buddies.
