Inglourious Basterds Takes a Little Off the Top

Have you seen the trailer for Inglourious Basterds yet? Do you know what you're missing?  Jews beating up Nazis. It's going to be awesome.

MTV Movies recently spoke to Eli Roth, the man behind Hostel and Hostel Part II, about his work on Quentin Tarantino's latest film. “This movie has the intensity of Reservoir Dogs, the style of Pulp Fiction, the violence of Kill Bill, the adrenaline of Death Proof and the characters of Jackie Brown,” explained Roth. “It's really the greatest of Quentin's talents, all culminating in this film."

Starring the likes of Mike Myers, B.J. Novak, and Brad Pitt, Inglourious Basterds is set in World War II and follows a pack of undercover Jewish soldiers as they enter France with the sole mission of killing Nazis and striking fear into the hearts of their German comrades.

"There are a lot of scalpings," Roth promises. "He's not going to skimp on the scalping, let me tell you. Quentin based what the Basterds do on what the Apache Indians did. They would do what's known now as the Apache Resistance, where they would capture people and horribly mutilate them, scalp them, torture them, cut them up and leave one person alive.”

There's also plenty of Roth as Donnie Donowitz, a Boston Red Sox fan who carries around a baseball bat with which to bludgeon Nazis with.

Movie's due out in August. Maybe I'm a weird kind of girl, but this is my kind of summer date movie.

Needs to be something special to prove Tarantino isn't just a hack.

LOL. Tarantino needs to prove himself. THat is fucking funny man. fucking funny. So, how many films does a director have to make to not be considered a hack. You are a fucking idiot. Damn.
