Iron Man 2 Screenwriter Talks About The Departure Of Terrence Howard

While it's news about how big of a role Jim Rhodes plays in the sequel, what isn't news anymore is why Terrence was cut out of it. This piece of news is one of those, "I shouldn't have slept with that enormous fat chick" after the fact stories.
MTV spoke with screenwriter Justin Theroux talks about Jim Rhodes' role in the sequel:
"All that stuff that was in the ‘EW’ article,” Theroux started before a brief pause. “I don’t know. I can only tell you what I know which is that from a writing standpoint we didn’t do anything differently [with the character]. It’s not like we were sitting there going, we need less of this or that. We just approached the characters and the story on their own terms.”

I'm telling you, Terrence got the shaft because he was probably a real pain in the ass and Favreau didn't want to listen to his crap anymore. And if you think Terrence can't spit some jibba jabba, then you need to check this out.

Wha's your point? If the dude was a douche then replace himin the movie. His existential beliefs have very little to do with his work or acting. Tom Cruise is still money at the box office. Odd and very tiny money... but money.

yeah, getting rid of Howard was a bad move!
Replacing him with a frail looking midget like Cheadle screams mis cast.
