Iron Man Casting and Concept Designs.

Gwyneth Paltrow has been cast to play Pepper Potts in
Iron Man.
We
reported a while back that Rachel McAdams was sent the script and that she was at the top of the list but she hadn't accepted the offer. A few days ago according to El Mayimbe, Rachel McAdams had passed on the film, no word why. As far as this casting goes I am not thrilled at all with this.
Although the role is secondary, I can't see Gwyneth pulling off the infatuation she must have for Tony. Unless they're planning on re-working the character, which would be a bad thing.
Paltrow joins Robert Downey Jr. -- who plays armor-clad superhero Iron Man and his alter ego, billionaire industrialist Tony Stark -- and Terrence Howard, who will play Stark's best friend Rhodey.
Paltrow will play Stark's personal assistant Virginia "Pepper" Potts, one of the few people in Stark's life who can go toe-to-toe with him and who occasionally serves as his conscience. The pair also share a secret attraction to each other.
In other Iron Man news,
ScreenRant has posted what they are reporting to be a couple concept designs for the Iron Man suit. They look pretty good, but of course, the suit will probably look nothing like this when finalized!
I've heard some good and bad news about what's been going on with the suit construction since Stan Winston has been brought on board. But if anyone can pull this off, its Stan and Co. because I'd personally not like to see an entire CGI suit.
And to be fair,
AICN did report the casting of Gwyneth. Which isn't surprising considering that Harry and Jon haven't had talked about John Carter of Mars in a while! So expect more Iron Man news to be broken at AICN. Of course, that won't stop us from trying to steal a couple of them away!
