Are we in a Sylvester Stallone revival? When did this happen?
One day, you're watching the guy play various, cartoon-y versions of himself as the bad guy in Spy Kids 3D, then there's another Rocky followed by another Rambo, followed by 80s actioneer-throwback The Expendables and now...Rambo again?
It doesn't matter if I don't believe nor understand what just happend, but Nu Image/Millennium Films has greenlit the fifth Rambo movie with Sylvester Stallone starring and directing once again. This time, Rambo will have to kill human traffickers and drug lords to rescue some poor girl who has disappeared near the Texas/Mexico border.
Great. He's going to be killing my distant relatives this time around. Now I know how Asian-Americans feel.
Then again, maybe Stallone can pull it off. If by "it" you mean returning the studio's investment. Last year's Rambo made a cool $42 million state side and $113 million overseas.
We'd heard Sly talk about a fifth Rambo, and it looks like those dollar signs were enough to pull it off.
