King Kong Invades Universal Studios Hollywood

King Kong Invades Universal Studios Hollywood Ever want to see the “Eight Wonder of the World” in real life? You'll soon have your chance when Universal Studios Hollywood opens its new 4-D Studio Tour attraction dedicated to King Kong.

Borrowing elements from the 2005 remake of the original 1933 film, the new King Kong attraction will place theme-park goers in the middle of the action. After donning special glasses, they'll find themselves taken on a trip around Skull Island and caught between a 35-foot tall dinosaur and King Kong as they battle, all courtesy of Surround Digital 3D projection.

This isn't the first time the giant ape has terrorized Universal Studios' guests, though. Back in 1986, the original King Kong attraction opened and would become a fixture of the Studio Tour until it was torn down last year.

The new King Kong attraction won't officially open in the summer of 2010, so for now you'll have to satisfy yourselves with the promotional pic below.
