Comic book writer Mark Millar, talked to Empire Magazine about his idea for a trilogy of Superman films to be released each year like in Lord of the Rings. While it's a great idea, if the first movie were to suck, then nobody would give a shit about parts 2 & 3.
Here's a bit from the article:
“The problem with Superman Returns was like releasing Star Wars in ’77, The Empire Strikes Back in ’80 and then waiting 28 years to release Return of the Jedi, it wasn’t relevant. I understand what Bryan Singer was trying to do, to pay homage to Richard Donner’s original vision, but I think you should pay homage by doing something completely different.”
“I want to start on Krypton, a thousand years ago, and end with Superman alone on Planet Earth, the last being left on the planet, as the yellow sun turns red and starts to supernova, and he loses his powers."

Fuck off mark. No more re-makes, re-imaginings or re-starts.
Stick to writing comics.

What the Superman franchise is in dire need is
a Lois Lane anal rape scene!
But seriously:
Mark Millar has some good ideas.
BUT.......He's mostly kinda drunk half the time cause he's IRISH!!!!
stick w/ the anal rape! Trust me thats darker than the dark knight!

much better. as a "no h" antony, i'm a bit of a name spelling nazi. seeing as this is the second comment i'm leaving i may as well comment on this news i guess...
it's a good of an idea as any i suppose, but is't warner bros completely retooling the way they roll out the new DC franchises? last i heard they were going to somewhat mimic the marvel idea of having a continuity based universe for their movies to fit in. i'm not sure this would really fit as a piece of that puzzle?
i liked richard donner's suggestion of having geoff johns write the new superman movie. i feel like johns deserves the hype millar gets. 3 paragraphs? really? i'm done now...

So after leading the audience on a epic journey you bring them down with a no future ending! Miller needs to stay away from Superman and continue on his impossible hitman stories.

No more Superman remakes or reboots within the next 10 years! It had its chance with Superman Returns and that came out bland and shitty. Also NO MORE LEX LUTHOR!
