Marshall's Year Of Doomsday
By Ryan 'The Rican with the Irish name' McLelland on January 4, 2008

It's a rare time when Kellvin passes me a story to talk about it and I scratch my head going, "What the hell movie is that?" Obviously being a writer of movie news my knowledge is vast but there are sometimes that something will slip through my, um, crack.
One of these movies is Doomsday, directed by Neil Marshall. Marshall directed The Descent which most of my friends absolutely abhored but I quite liked myself. Then I realized that Doomsday stars ex-Tomb Raider model and my future wife Rhona Mitra who is the hottest and bestest thing since newly baked sliced bread. She will be mine, oh yes, she will be mine...
Getting back on track, Marshall is another person with a MySpace account (Really!?!?! MySpace is
so two years ago! Set up a personal blog site at www.neilmarshall.com or something) and
he has just posted a huge delightful blog about his 2007 year and the making of Doomsday. It's a wonderful read especially as he gets very personal about the shoot and how frustrating it can be for sites that post reviews to spoil an entire movie point-by-point. Not that he's talking about us - because he's not!
For those not in the know (like I was twenty-some-odd-seconds-ago), Doomsday is about a deadly UK plague that has killed hundreds of thousands (hopefully Simon Pegg survived). The British Government got as many people out of the infected area as possible but then built a massive wall preventing any remaining people from escaping certain doom. Now, in the year 2037, the virus breaks out again and super-hottie future Irish Rican wife Rhona Mitra must go in with her crack team of super agents to try and find a cure.
There's a shitload of great pictures and personal anecdotes over on Marshall's blog so click right here to go check it out!
