The Hollywood Reporter said today that an offer is out to Chris Pine to play Captain James T. Kirk in J.J. Abrams holiday 2008 film Star Trek.
However Pine is in negotations and has not yet been 'cast.' So we'll just have to keep a lookout for the official announcement.
Additionally TrekMovie.com has a sweet interview with Star Trek co-writer (and executive producer) Roberto Orci.
On the second draft of the script he said, "It is better. It is tighter. The villain is much better; in a first draft you tend to focus on your heroes. And I got to say that a lot of the things we read on TrekMovie.com contributed to the second rewrite."
For those worried about the Writers Guild strike and how it could affect the film Orci says, "Well it won’t effect anything because the strike would start when we are shooting so we will have the script finished by then. Any changes between now and then will be based on casting. Once we have the actors we will want to tailor it to their voices."
There's ALOT more to the amazing interview so click right here to go check it out!
