Neve Campbell Beats Dead Horse

Neve Campbell Beats Dead Horse We've been hearing things about Scream 4. Things like "the beginning of a new trilogy" and "focused on Gale Weathers and Dewey (Courtney Cox and her husband David Arquette)." These things have all been worrisome. For one, why start a new trilogy with some of the most uninteresting characters the franchise has left? Is this a quiet push for more people to keep Cox busy on Cougar Town? Quick! Everyone watch Cougar Town!

Whoops. Too late, they've cast Neve Campbell.

Promising that "I'm going back to doing what I do best," Bob Weinstein is revving up franchises and genre films for Dimension, with familiar faces onboard (e.g., Neve Campbell has just signed for "Scream 4") and a new emphasis on 3D.
"Scream 4" will start production in April or May as the first of a new trilogy, and the company is talking to Wes Craven to direct, Weinstein reports. In addition to Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette will return to the "Scream" franchise.

That entire paragraph sounds like what Bob Weinstein does best is mine his back catalog and jump on the 3D horror bubble before we can even label it.

But, hey, maybe Neve Campbell is ready for her comeback...

... he blogs sarcastically.
