New Star Trek Images Now Online
By George 'El Guapo' Roush on October 16, 2008
No longer shrouded in secrecy, Paramount has decided to finally start showing fans of Star Trek images from the upcoming movie. The marketing machine has started up the warp drive and the brake lines have officially been cut.

Know what this means? That by the time the film comes out, there will be over 50 images, 4 TV film clips, one teaser (already out) and at least two or three trailers. Meaning Paramount thinks one or both things about the movie:

1. That it sucks ass and they're too scared people won't go see it unless they try and shove it down everyone's throats that it's a good movie.

2. They don't realize that everyone on the planet already knows these characters and is going to see the film anyway.

Personally, I would rather not know a thing about this Star Trek. For once, just once, I'd like it if a studio surprised me. If I went in with zero expectations about how the film will look or what its tone is. What are they scared of? It's Star Trek. People are going to go see this movie. I'm telling you, by the time May 2009 rolls around, you will have seen half the movie. Harry Potter does that already, but most people who see Harry Potter have read the books.

People are naturally curious about things they don't know about. Why not let this new Star Trek be today's Bearded Lady? I mean, I already know the damn plot of the movie and it's info I didn't want, but happened to hear because this stuff leaks out too easily.

Now, since they're promoting the film already, which really, isn't a big deal. I understand it. All I'm saying is, don't show us everything about the film before it even comes out. Some of us, yes, even some of us press people, like the mystery. Personally, I wouldn't have let a single image of Eric Bana be released before the film's debut.

Star Trek is about exploring strange new worlds and seeking out new life and new civilizations. For once, let the audience go on that journey without knowing everything about the adventure before it even begins.

I know I've already talked about how I'm sick of posting news stories about this movie, because they won't talk about it. The reason why I'm tired of posting news stories about it, is because I don't want to know anything about it. Which sucks for me, because a lot of readers do. Holy shit, I can ramble on, can't I? Christ. I really need to shut the hell up sometimes because even I know when I'm not making sense.

Ok, I'll stop being a giant jackass. But ONLY for today. Here are the image links:

In space no-one can hear you...moan like a whiny little bitch as you get double teamed by a Vulcan and a Romulan chanting a Klingon mating call as Capt Kirk seduces some green alien ho in the back of the starship 'Enter-Her-Prize'. Now excuse me while I unzip and let Scotty 'beam me up'...
