New Terrorism TV Special The producer X-Men and Transformers isn't just interested in fictional superheroes, he also has an eye on what everyday heroes are up to. Fresh off of producing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Tom DeSanto has been hard at work on creating a special for truTV.

Dubbed Crisis: New York Underwater, the series will introduce audiences to actual case files involving attempted attacks on the U.S. by terrorists and how they've been thwarted by various government agencies. The special is rated TV-14-V and airs tonight on truTV at 11 p.m. EST.

Here's the official synopsis from the network:

From producer Tom DeSanto (X-Men and Transformers) comes a thrilling new series that unlocks the case files of America’s elite terrorist hunters and tells the stories of their daring missions. Through a mix of computer-generated animations, action-packed recreations, and hair-raising interviews with the actual agents, we’ll recount the shocking, formerly top secret details of the people who keep us safe without us even knowing.
