If it's one thing I hate, it's zombies. I don't hate them because I'm scared of them, I hate them because they're fucking slow, stupid and I really don't understand how anyone could be killed by the undead without trapping themselves in a broom closet and letting them overpower you. The only zombies that seemed remotely frightening were the ones in Zack Synder's Dead remake and in the two 28 (Days and Weeks) movies.
Other than that, zombies suck ass and are way too overused in horror. It looks like Passmore Labs will be converting the George A. Romero classic Night of the Living Dead, into 3-D, bringing an added dimension to my don't give a shit about zombies attitude.
Marketsaw had a brief Q&A with Greg Passmore:
MarketSaw: Hi Greg - wow! NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is one of my all time favorites! How did you come to the decision to convert NOLD to 3D?
GP: I really love the film Jim. When I started talking about it around the office, much to my surprise, I found lots of other people here who also love the film. It just seemed like a natural. Legend has, by far, the best copy and colorization of the film. I pestered Legend for months to get them to agree to let us do it.
MarketSaw: What sort of distribution have you come up with for the movie?
GP: Originally it was slated for VOD and 3D DVD. We have found some strong interest in European distribution and maybe even limited theatrical in the US. Ultimately however, the film is destined primarily for home entertainment.

Hello? A virus outbreak eliminates city's people// quarantined locales etc.. Sounds like fuckin' zombies to me suck-boy.
and I always wondered why this is considered by all the masses to be a masterpiece.. I finally tried to sit through it last october and pretty much laughed my ass off how cheap and bad directed it was...BUT it was the first of it's kind. so that stands for something i guess.
for the record the best zombie flick was a little gem called RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD..that movie was campy, funny, gory, and had pleanty of bush in it...Now thats a genre thats celebrating.. BRAINS!!!!!!

They Are Not Zombies

In 28 Days/Weeks Later, they are infected with Rage. There are a couple things that help define zombies.
a.) Zombies are beings that have returned from the dead.
b.) Zombies have a lust for eating flesh.
The infected from 28 Days/Weeks Later are none of these. They don't eat people, and they haven't returned from the dead. The only commonality they share is if you get bitten (when you're alive) you'll turn to one of them.
