We've been with eight film clips from Fox Searchlight's new biopic "Notorious" starring Derek Luke, Angela Bassett, Anthony Mackie and Jamal Woolard as Biggie Smalls.
What better way to leave 2008 and start 2009 with huh? To me The Notorious B.I.G. was if not one of the Greatest rappers of all time, and after seeing the film myself I was very very shocked how impressive this film is.
In just a few short years, Notorious B.I.G. rose from the streets of Brooklyn to become one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time. B.I.G. was a gifted storyteller; his narratives about violent life on the streets were told with a gritty, objective realism that won him enormous respect and credibility. His stories were universal and gave a voice to his generation.
Check out all the clips below and don't forget to go check out "Notorious" in theatres on January 16th.

Ha ha ll cool j thats like comparing the 1st color tv to new lcds. ll was good in his day but the rap game evolved got better smoother flow deeper rhymes but evolution isn't always progress look at hip hop now its more about the beats than what they say.
Also tupac had a film straight to cable film cause people where that interested in it.

Just not a big fan...2-pac is more talented to me(SAME GENERATION)
but lets be honest if Big boy were still alive he'd be forgotten just like all the other flavers of the month
50 cent, lil' john, coolio,Wu tang, naughty by nature,Puff daddy too! some are still doin' there thing but some are washin' cars by now.. the MTV cribs were rentals and the bentleys were leases!
nothin' against the genre but quality has gone down quite a bit fellas!
Tribe called quest and Arrested development kind of talent is hard to find now-a-days
N.W.A. FOREVER BITCHES!

Tribe were awesome
Commented By: chris on 2009-01-04 14:16:36
yeah tribe were quality but what you said about biggie being dead has helped him be as popular as he still is, what about pac hes also dead and had the same hype but people still got bored of him probably because of eminem doing his stupid remixs of pac. the quality has gone down hill but wasnt untill about 1999 2000 when it got so bad. scar face still had a good album dead prez and the blue print from jay was his last decent one but think that was about 2001

Is it just me or is the last clip the only one loading? Either way, I think that Derek Luke will do a great job portraying Puff...Faith looks well cast too. I'm iffy about the others.

I just watched the movie, it was aight, not a true portrayal of any of these artists and the actors wre way too soft to be playin them. It was sad though i must admit, but mostly what was annoying about the whole film was they didnt dubb biggies voice over for the rhymes, so u gotta listen to this actor rappin..which is shit. Ohh, and most of all the portrayal of jim and kims relationship doesnt even come close to the real thing.
