Orlando Bloom, Prince of Persia?

By George 'El Guapo' Roush on April 7, 2008

Orlando Bloom has just signed on to play the lead in Disney's Prince of Persia trilogy. The first movie will be directed by Jerry Bruckheimer. The deal is reportedly worth $40 million dollars.

Wow. Orlando Bloom is acting in another adventure movie? Why? Why does Hollywood keep casting this guy in adventure roles? He's not a good actor, he whispers every fucking line he says, and he does not come across as an action hero. In Kingdom of Heaven he looked like he was going to fall over every time he picked up his sword.

You know what this tells me? That the story is weak and they need an actor twelve year old girls like or else they may not be able to fill in the seats.

The article even stated he beat out Zac Efron for the part. I'm sorry, his biggest competition was Zac Efron? That's like two competing Tampon companies fighting for shelf space at the grocery store.

**UPDATE** Film School Rejects is reporting Disney is denying this casting story and that Bruckheimer isn't directing. So we shall see what we shall see. I'm not wasting my tampon joke though, so I'm leaving this possibly false story up there.
