From The LA Times:
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "The Dark Knight," "Frost/Nixon," "Milk' and "Slumdog Millionaire" were nominated Monday for the Producers Guild of America's top award.
Notably missing from the list were the Golden Globe best picture nominees "The Reader" and "Revolutionary Road." Perhaps the biggest surprise among the nominees was "The Dark Knight," which has largely been ignored in the best picture category so far this awards' season.
The Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures has become one of the more reliable bellwethers for the best picture Academy Award since its inception in 1990. Last year's PGA winner, "No Country for Old Men," " went on to win the Oscar for best film.
Documentary feature nominees were "Man on Wire," "Standard Operating Procedure" and "Trouble in the Water."
"Bolt," "Kung Fu Panda" and "Wall-E" earned nominations for producer of the year in animated motion pictures.
On the television front, "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Entourage," "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Weeds" were nominated for the Danny Thomas Producer of the Year in Episodic Television-Comedy.
Dramatic TV series nominees are "Boston Legal," "Damages," "Dexter," "Lost" and "Mad Men."
"24: Redemption," "Bernard and Doris," "John Adams," "A Raisin in the Sun" and "Recount" were nominated for the David L. Wolper Producer of the Year in Long-Form Television award.
"Deadliest Catch," "Frontline" "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List," "60 Minutes" and "This American Life" garnered nominations for the producer of the year award in non-fiction television.
Nomination in the live entertainment/competition category were "The Amazing Race," "The Colbert Report," Project Runway," "Top Chef" and "Real Time with Bill Maher."
The PGA Awards will be presented Jan. 24th at the Hollywood Palladium.

I am one of the biggest Batman fans EVER, in fact I even grabbed the brand new JOKER graphic novel that just released. (FUCKIN AMAZING BTW) But as someone who loves and knows a good movie when I see one, I CANNOT call TDK the best movie ever. It's amazing, and definetely one of the best, but not THE best...

Overall Batman Begins was a much better film then The Dark Knight was. I'm not doubting the chaotic amounts of action and the phenomenal performance of Heath Ledger and the other actors, but Batman Begins gave the viewer more time to think, comprehend, it had better character development and a much more entertaining pace and build up then The Dark Knight did. As a movie lover and a Batman fan... Batman Begins WHOOPS The Dark Knight. It's just to bad the first one didn't get any recognition.
