RoboCop and Red Dawn Being Remade!
By Edgar 'El Toro' Arce on May 19, 2008

Word on the street (The Hollywood Reporter) is that a RoboCop and Red dawn remake are in the works. I still remember first watching Red Dawn when I was in high school. I remember thinking that something like that was possible because of all the hysteria there was behind the cold war we had going with Russia.
"Red Dawn,” is a John Milius' 1984 tale of a group of American rebel students fighting Soviet forces after they parachute into a small town in the Unites States. 9/11 was much greater representation of this film that basically dramatizes the question, what if the enemy one day just landed on our soil. My question is would is still be the Russians, or would it be modernized with the Taliban as the enemy? What do you think?
Now being that Iron Man has been such a huge success, you have to remember that RoboCop was the first! And for its time and day, Robo was badass! In fact I remember it was pretty damn violent for the time. So if a remake occurred today, one thing I would expect would be a watered version for the younger audience, ala Iron Man.
Either movie would be well watched I believe. So if the rumors are true, I would be interested on seeing the modern day version of these films. What do you think?
Would Red Dawn still be the red machine that was Russia? Or the Taliban? Or do you have a better idea for the enemy?
Would Robocop provide friendly competition for Iron Man? And would you watch a PG-13 version or should it be a hard R like it was back in the day?
