Shawn Levy Gets A 'Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day'

Shawn Levy Gets A 'Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day' There's quite a few children's books that we all went through while we were growing up. One of those, at least for myself, was "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day". You would figure after the ridiculous amount of success over Phil Lord and Chris Miller's "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" that others would try to duplicate that right away.

Twentieth Century Fox is combining their power to go and bring "Alexander" to the big screen with Shawn Levy's 21 Laps company attached. Unfortunately the word at the moment is that Levy will not be directing "Alexander", but that's a big maybe not. The story, being written for the big screen by Rob Lieber, sets itself on a group of family members who are each equally having a pretty horrible day.

Ever since Lord and Miller did a wonderful job with "Cloudy", there's a lot more optimism from many people including myself in regards to children's books being made into feature films. Last year was particularly great, mainly because "Cloudy" and "Where the Wild Things Are" were really good. Levy is currently in the middle of filming "Real Steel" with the super buff and multi-talented Hugh Jackman. The science-fiction boxing drama is scheduled for a November 18th, 2011 release.
