Shocking Transformers 2 News. Steven Spielberg Likes His Own Movie. In a shocking turn of events, Steven Spielberg told Michael Bay that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen may be his best work yet.

This is in surprising contrast to the last Transformers film when Spielberg commented, "I have no idea what the fuck is happening in this movie."

Michael Bay got the high five from Steven during a private screening. His official website forum boards has the deep dish info:

Steven Spielberg sat next to me in a big 100 person theater at Sony today. There were 98 empty seats. The lights came up after we just watched my cut of Revenge of the Fallen. He turned to me and said "It's awesome". He felt this movie was better than the first - and probably my best, who knows - at this point in a movie you start to lose your objectivity. I just hope the fans like it. I'm going to start putting it in front of audiences in a few weeks - no you are not invited, yet.

We have 60 days left. Let me tell you it will be a race to finish. It's 12 at night and we are still working here in the edit room. Everyone at ILM and DD are killing themselves right now, they are doing a stellar job on the effects. We also just finished our trailer which is coming out with Wolverine. Talk to you soon.

Michael

I love the first part. That they sat in a 100 person theater and there were 98 empty seats. Instead of just saying the two were in a private screening together. Do you think they held hands?

And you know what? Maybe Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is Michael's best work. I know I'd like to be able to give him a positive review for once, and the footage shown at ShoWest blew me away. So we'll see.

And Michael, it's 97 empty seats. Don't forget to save a spot for Jesus.

Do your best work when you

Speilberg hasnt made any good movies in the past 5 years. he doesnt know what the heck he is lookin at on screen anymore! specially on his PG world. Him and lucas destroyed Indiana Jones. I hope he had very little input on Transformers.
LOL

Indy sucked and yet he liked it. And George I do think they were holding hands tight. But regardless, Transformers 2 is going to be the summer hit of the summer.
Maybe...

Why does everybody hate this guy so much? Yeah he's responsible for some of the shitiest movies ever but he certainly isn't the only one out there churning out crap. Maybe it's because this guy can actually get the financing for his big stinkers and that just boils your insides. So much freedom and opportunity and money to shell out his crap and none for you. I can't say Micheal's great at being a filmmaker but I guess I'm just tired of you guys always bitching so much. Wah, wah, wah!! My favorite film of his is still the Rock. That's gotta be his best, right? Armageddon and Pearl Harbor,.. Shit! Those movies are turds. But Micheal doesn't write his pictures. Which is probrably best. He's a commercial and music video director,.. all visuals. I don't know how you can bitch at somebody who says they're only here to give you some eye candy and then does exactly that. You wonder how it can be so brainless? I think you guys might be missing the point. He makes dumb popcorn movies. For crying out loud, the entire G1 Transformers series was about the same thing every goddamn episode, "Don't let them pesky Decepticons get thier hands on them Energon cubes"! What did you guys expect? Shakespeare? Steven Spielberg is always gonna support this movie. It makes bank at the box office and at the toy store. It's just a product. And as far as Indy 4 goes, it really wasn't that bad. It would never live up to your experience of Raiders becuase it's Raiders! Plus alot of you saw that movie when you were kids. Everythings better when your a kid. I mean look at those silly Star Wars movies. None of them are nearly as good as they say. They're kinda cool sure but they are no masterpieces. And for the record, the Island wasn't that bad either.

"For crying out loud, the entire G1 Transformers series was about the same thing every goddamn episode, "Don't let them pesky Decepticons get thier hands on them Energon cubes"! And yet, Bay couldn't even get that right.
None?

I think Bay gave Steven a Hand job during the flick and was praising the favor not the movie.
