Shymallamabananarama Still Mulling Unbreakable Sequel
By George 'El Guapo' Roush on October 7, 2008

As
reported earlier, M. Night is still thinking about writing a sequel to his best film,Unbreakable. Sci Fi Wire posted an interview with the famous trick ending director who has probably said the funniest thing I think I've heard a director say next to Micheal Bay telling people that he's "good."
"When the reaction was mixed, kind of a disappointment, I was pettily hurt, and I was like, 'God, I took so many incredible risks and things like that,'" Shyamalan said. What incredible risks did you take? You invented the superhero origin idea??
But this is my favorite:
That's actually my favorite movie, and I watch that all the time,' and on and on. I'll be on the street, and some kid will run across traffic with it in his backpack--he just is carrying it in his backpack--and he'll be running [saying], 'I can't believe it's you!' Will you sign my Unbreakable DVD?' And quoting the thing and all that stuff." According to Night, children will risk their lives running across traffic to have a director sign their copy of Unbreakable they keep on their person at all times. If that doesn't say, "I'm the most arrogant person on the face of this planet.", then I don't know what does. Do you honestly think a kid would ever recognize him? Shit, do this for a living and I even if I bumped into him I probably wouldn't recognize him. Which is a good thing because I'd ask him to stop making movies.

Unbreakable Rules!! Thu Oct 09 at 14:52 EST
Give Shamalan a break! Unbreakable was his best feature hands down! Signs was cool, but aliens who are afraid of water didn't notice earth was blue? Just coldn't get past that. As ofr his more recent films. I love Lady in the Water, it was a great story and well acted. The Happening was cheeseville, but I also liked it. Reminded me of great B-Scifi films of the 60's. Shamalan is a worthy director, he is arogent, but so what! Check out my site at http://schofizzymoviereview.blogspot.com

Agree with first poster Wed Oct 08 at 17:52 EST
He may have made several crappy movies lately, but that's really no reason to be disrespectful to his name. At least be original if you're going to make fun of him guys. I expect more from you guys.
PermalinkWhy you gigging on his last name? Wed Oct 08 at 17:09 EST
how about you respect his name a bit? would you do the same to a latino director? i dont think so.
