Stephen King's The Mist Review

Our very own George ‘El Guapo’ Roush got a chance to check out Frank Darabont’s newest flick “Stephen King's The Mist,” which stars Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Andre Braugher, Laurie Holden, Toby Jones, William Sadler, Frances Sternhagen, and Jeffrey DeMunn.

Three-time Oscar®-nominee Frank Darabont ("The Green Mile," "The Shawshank Redemption") reunites with horror-master Stephen King to write and direct this chilling adaptation of the author's original short story. Following a violent thunderstorm, artist David Drayton and a small town community come under vicious attack from creatures prowling in a thick and unnatural mist. Local rumors point to an experiment called the 'The Arrowhead Project' conducted at a nearby top-secret military base, but questions as to the origins of the deadly vapor are secondary to the group's overall chances for survival. Retreating to a local supermarket, Drayton and the survivors must face-off against each other before taking a united stand against an enemy they cannot even see!

Here is a clip from the review:

We do get to see some creatures in this creature feature. While the CGI is hit and miss in some scenes, and the creatures themselves are just monstrous versions of life here on Earth, it’s what they do to people that’s fun to watch. Frank doesn’t cut back on the gore, and you’ll see some pretty sick shit in this film. Everything from bodies being ripped in half to razor sharp tentacles stabbing flesh is here. But the sickest and most intense scene is when Drayton and others manage to make their way into a pharmacy only to discover creatures inside that if you actually faced in real life, would make you shit your pants and have you eat said shit so you could shit your pants once more. What’s the one bug everyone hates the most? No, it isn’t Ann Coulter. Guess what it is? Now imagine a giant, meaner version that deposits its eggs inside of you. Ok, maybe it is Ann Coulter.
