Strike Won't Stop The Trek

Okay...so it looks like the Writers Strike is happening. How will that effect your favorite TV shows and movies? Well here's hoping that Fox's Tuesday night line-up becomes Cops, Wildest Police Chases, Stupid Animal Tricks, followed by Hooker Fights. Hey the strike doesn't affect reality shows!
And it looks like it won't affect J.J. Abrams Star Trek which starts filming November 7th.
TrekMovie.com got to talk to the very incredible co-writer/exec producer Roberto Orci who reported that the flick is ready to go whether the strike happens or not.
“The script is in great shape and we had a long lead time,” Orci said. "JJ [Abrams] and I have been up to the wee hours of the morning getting it all together.”
The writers, working with J.J. Abrams are said to be working all the way up to the deadling where they will “always take advantage of every minute and second of time to try and improve anything and everything possible.”
TrekMovie also points out that
during a strike neither the writers, nor JJ Abrams (who is a guild member) can add anything to the script, however a producer can choose to use portions of any previous drafts of the script. In addition, spontaneous or ad libbed dialog from the actors is allowed. Unlike the last strike this one would be limited to the writers. All the other major unions in Hollywood have notified their members to honor their contracts. However, indications are that this will not impact the film.
