Tarantino Nabs Austin Powers To Star In Inglorious Bastards
By George 'El Guapo' Roush on August 14, 2008
In surprising casting news, Mike Myers will be playing British General Ed Fenech, a military mastermind who helps hatch a plot to wipe out Nazi leaders:

Mike Myers has been recruited by Quentin Tarantino to join the ensemble cast of "Inglorious Bastards," the Tarantino-scripted pic that the Weinstein Co. and Universal will put into production Oct. 13 in Germany.

Brad Pitt recently committed to star in the film, along with Eli Roth, and Tarantino is also courting Simon Pegg, Nastassja Kinski, David Krumholtz and B.J. Novak.

Wel, this is certainly some crazy casting news. It's actually a good part for Myers, whose Love Guru tanked. Perhaps this can get him back on track and into the spotlight again?

I particularly enjoy how you guys claim to have been handed the script, but keep misrepresenting recently announced cast members as "stars". Pitt is in it for, what, 25 minutes over 3 hours? Myers for maybe 2 minutes? I can't wait to see how people feel after walking into this mess. Lord knows, I can't wait to see over an hour and a half about how to run a WW2-era movie theater. WHOO!! Thanks for teaching me about synch sound and projectionist work, Tarantino! Welcome back from Death Proof! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Potential

In my opinion, this movie has potential. Although I am not a Taratino fan, I can see where this could go right. But QT has fucked up a few of his last films and to me he is very overrated as a director. Maybe he should stick to writing and let someone else direct!
Amusing?

One of THE best filmmakers today is QT. This film will be another entertaining, balls to the walls movie from him.

I have read the script, though i do have my questions about the accuracy of the script, i do have to agree with NOBODY. I thought this film would be a Guns of the Navarone fused with Pulp Fiction dialog and Kill Bill's violence. But NO.....it really a boring script with some, key word some intresting characters. But who knows maybe Tarantino blows us away with a different story. Hope so. Well i did like the Brand the Basterds with an E left the Nazis. Hilarious true Tarantino right there.
This movie's gonna rock!!!!!!!!!!!

Death Proof was great! I loved every inch of film shot for this thing, and it's not because it's a product of Tarantino's caffeinated imagination. I read this script and loved the unique angle on that period, and can't wait to see that opening scene executed! Germans and french speaking their native tongue Tarantino style; loving it already!

Just heard that Sam Levine has also been cast in this movie. The casting choices are starting to get a bit weird? Who's next, Danny Bonaduce as Dr. Mengele or C.Thomas Howell as Joseph Goebels? as Goebels?
