Fox 2000 is willing to dive into space with beefcake actor Channing Tatum in the new science fiction project "Ion". Blatantly green lit thanks to James Cameron's "Avatar", the production is based off the spec script by Will Dunn. "Ion" focuses on a man who travels to distant planets in order to find the reincarnation of his love. You won't see Tatum escape romance films anytime soon, mainly because he wooed audiences over enough with "Dear John", based off the sappy novel by Nicholas Sparks.
Tony and Ridley Scott are latched onto the project, producing under their Scott Free label. Since Fox wants to get this puppy off the ground soon, you can assume that filming will commence later on this year. Let's see who the latest woman is that'll be set to play the 'love interest' for Tatum. What the physical appeal is about this guy I'll never know. If you want to get another glimpse of his muscles on the big screen again, be sure to check him out in the gladiator-induced action film "The Eagle of the Ninth". The Kevin MacDonald film storms into theaters on February 25th, 2011.
