Not sure if you've heard the talk today about the 3 movie Hobbit rumor, but it's just that. A rumor. But I'll get to that in a second.
First order of Hobbit business is scratching one of the names off the rumored Bilbo Baggins casting list - Daniel Radcliffe.
The LA Times has more:
Who will star as Bilbo Baggins in "The Hobbit"? You can cross one name off the list: Daniel Radcliffe, of "Harry Potter" fame, says he has no interest in any new project with "any wizards in it."
"I'd have to say, 'Thanks but no thanks,' not that anyone has asked me," the 20-year-old actor told me last week in England. "Honestly, I don't think they would want me anyway, it's just too close. Whatever I do next, I don't think there will be any wizards in it!"

Radcliffe is right, it's too close to what he's doing now. Where's Martin Freeman in all of this casting talk?
Next up is the rumored 3 movie talk that hit the dad gum internets today. My good buddy and passionate 3-D connoisseur Jim Dorey over at Marketsaw, has a source who had this to say about the possibility of The Hobbit being stretched out over 3 movies:
Im hearing word "and its only speculation at the moment", that it wont be two films. It will be three. The two parts and the bridge movie. Word alone is not trustworthy. However I hear this from lots of people. And have seen things to indicate this may be the way it is heading. Del Toro on Hobbit duty, Jackson on the bridge project. Time will tell."

We wanted to find out from the man himself about this possible 3 movie rumor. So we did what any movie website would do. We e-mailed him. Here's Guillermo's response:
Hola!!
All speculation, really and some of it quite wild (we are not even touching Gollum's design) and inventive.

For now, the 3 movie thing isn't happening. As far as the other stuff? Who knows at this point.
