The Incredible Hulk Is Hurt!

By Ryan 'The Rican with the Irish name' McLelland on June 13, 2007

William Hurt has been the latest actor cast in Louis Leterrier's comic book sequel The Incredible Hulk.  Hurt will play General Thunderbolt Ross - the Army leader dedicated to recapturing the Hulk while also being the father of Betty Ross, girlfriend to the Hulk's alter-ego Bruce Banner.

Ross was played by Sam Elliott in the original Ang Lee film.  Hurt's casting continues a wave of replacement that has Edward Norton taking over Bruce Banner from Eric Bana and Liv Tyler becoming Jennifer Connelly's Betty Ross.

Tim Roth is also onhand as Hulk bad guy The Abomination.

The film is one of the first being produced through Marvel Studios - the Hollywood division of Marvel Comics.  Legend Stan Lee will be executive producing the project.

Hurt is an Oscar winner who was recently nominated again for the golden statue for his brief but amazing role in the comic book adaptation A History of Violence.
