The Rock Talks Spy Hunter!

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson gave an update to Yahoo! Games about the upcoming video game made to movie SPY HUNTER. The script for the Spy Hunter movie has been completed and Universal currently has it pegged for a tent pole release next July. The film is expected to shoot later this year.

When asked what fans can expect from the big screen version, Johnson said they'll get a "great, well-written story that's not overly complicated, and funny."

"Spy Hunter will have great action," said Johnson. "Some of the set pieces that were written are absolutely mind-blowing. Stuart Beattie has done a fantastic job with the script."

Johnson added that when you take Spy Hunter or Halo, where the story lines are really, really strong and have a lot of depth involved and the characters are really well written, he thinks it's important that that transcends into the screenplay and then hopefully onto the screen.

"A lot of times the successful video game doesn't always equate to a successful movie," said Johnson. "I think there are some video game movies out there that were made that were good, some not so good, some that were pretty damn good, and some that are coming out that I anticipate will be great."
