The Wrestler Trailer

By Kellvin Chavez on November 20, 2008
Fox Searchlight has unveiled the trailer for Darren Aronofsky's latest critically acclaimed feature film "The Wrestler" starring Mickey Rourke, Marisa Tomei, and Evan Rachel Wood.

The film is due out December 17, 2008.

Check out the trailer below or watch the trailer in HD over at Apple.

Film centers on Randy "The Ram" Robinson, a 1980s-era star pro wrestler who has become a burnt-out shell of his former self. After he has a heart attack during a small-time match, a doctor tells him he could die if he fights again. In an effort to build a new life, Robinson takes a job at a deli, moves in with an aging stripper and tries to build a relationship with her son. But the prospect of a rematch with his old nemesis the Ayatollah proves too tempting to resist, even if it means risking his life.

WOW..Rourke I always thought was a underrated actor anyways. This movie will get him noticed again like what PulpFiction did for Travolta. From what I've seen in the trailer Rourke may have a oscar nomination for this as well as the director. Cant wait to see this.
Look promising

Dude I've been passing on this headline and just realized that it was Mickey Rourke in this! He's been totally unrecognizable in this and in the last 15 years actually but as different as he looks. you can tell he's not calling this one in like all those flicks in the 90's..Real Method Rourke looks like is back......AND WELCOME!

Im not too fimular with micky rourke's roles outside of Sin city, so i cant rant and rave about him, but this film looks very good and instering and i like how its taking wressling to a real dramatic and realistic potrayal. Looks really good.

Why is everyone acting like Rourke was gone? Once Upon A Time in Mexico, Domino, Marv in Sin City? He was never a great actor at anytime in his career but he's been steady working.
