The shooting date for Thor is looming closer -- January to be exact -- so it's about time we hear a little bit more about the casting. Of course, we all know by now that Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman are starring, but what about supporting characters?
According to Variety, director Kenneth Branagh has just snagged actors for "The Warriors Three," a group of... well, three warrior-gods from Asgard who battle on Thor's side in the comics. The names of the characters are Hogun, Volstagg, and Fandral, but the actors are none other than Tadanobu Asano (Ichi the Killer), Ray Stevenson (Rome) and Stuart Townsend (The League of Extraordinary Gentleman).
The addition of some badass warriors to back up Hemsworth's Thor is starting to give me more faith in this production. What do you guys think?
