Transformers - The Ride

I'm not really sure how "news-worthy" this is. It's really just a piece on an new amusement park ride. And it is not like you get in the ride that starts off as a car, go through some loopty-loops, transforms into a big honkin robot, fight some bad guy, back into a car, and that's the end. It's just one of those big internal roller coasters inside a big building like they got at Disney or Universal. Hopefully next I'm not reporting on the cool new Bumblebee stickers that just hit for Transformers 2: The Search For Energon. Don't laugh people - I'm sure that's next!
Anywho - IESB has reported on the ride and here's some tidbits from the article:Paramount Studios and Hasbro are in talks to bring Autobots and Decepticons to a lucky amusement park.
It is still very early in the planning stages, Paramount is eyeing the opening of the attraction between Transformers 2 and 3.
It will be a Dark Ride: an indoor amusement ride where riders in guided vehicles travel through specially-lit scenes that characteristically contain animation, sounds, music, and other special effects.
Early concepts involv(e) life size transforming Autobots and Decepticons and early comparisons to the Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland. One of the concepts involves an amphibious vehicle that guests will board and quickly find themselves in the middle of a battle between the warring giant robotic space aliens.
Once the studio green lights the project, from drawing board to completion is about 2-3 years.
There's a bit more to the article so if this has peaked your interest - click here to check out more!
While being transformed in a 'dark ride' would be cool - I still say a real transforming ride would be the shizzikikkle.
