**UPDATE** Michael Bay Confirms - Megatron Returns. And So Does Hugo Weaving.

I guess by now, anything Michael Bay says about his movie, you can just take it with a grain of salt because the exact opposite is probably going to happen. Like when Bay tried "fooling" everyone by saying Megatron wasn't in the sequel. Even though having a Transformers movie without Megatron is like having a Smurf movie without Gargamel, we were supposed to believe Michael. And he lied to us. He lied to his minions. What kind of cruel God are you, Michael Bay?
Sean Frewster, at the Australian paper The Advertiser (btw, I love Aussies. I want to visit one day.), got the lowdown from Hugo Weaving that he is returning as the voice of Megatron. Website Seibertron has more:
Turns out Bay was fibbing. "I've already done it," Weaving says, adding Bay had told him to keep the news hush-hush. "He's over in LA and we were working on the video split sort of thing and I had this strange conversation where he seemed to imply it was all a big secret. So there you go - I've given you the secret scoop."
So how is Megatron resurrected? Weaving is coy about revealling too much, but does give a tiny hint.

I wonder if Megatron will have more a vocal presence in the sequel instead of the 5 lines he was given in the original. I'd ask Michael Bay, but he'd probably just lie to me.
**UPDATE** Looks like Mikey has to finally tell us what we already know. He verified it via his website:
Okay cat is out of the bag. Megatron is back ---- but you will only get to see him from the long lost past. We go way back in time as this movie explains the mythology of the Primes. He is not a tank like everyone suggests, but an alien vehicle. But sadly he does not has much screen time.

the robots fighting looked like a garbage disposal's insides. Just a bunch of spinning gizmos. I couldn't tell what was going on. That being said I am not interested. I'll down load it off of U torrent

Just like with the new Dragon Ball movie, I will go see this movie. Whether it sucks or not, my friends and I will be in theater opening night to see it. I can't wait, but I hold no feelings one way or another. But I do hope for the best. I grew up on the show, I've read the comics, I watched Beast Wars, I will go see Transformers 2.
