Vin Diesel Whips Out His Riddick +2 Sequel Sword

Vin Diesel spoke with MTV about he and Director David Twohy working on two more Riddick sequels:
"David Twowy right now is writing the scripts. The only question is whether we take a page from the ‘Lord of the Rings’ guys and try to shoot the two chapters at the same time. There are two more in mind,” he said of Riddick, the Furyan warrior first introduced in the 2000 film “Pitch Black.” “‘The Chronicles of Riddick’ was presented as a three part trilogy that would answer ‘Pitch Black’ in the same way that ‘Lord of the Rings’ answered ‘The Hobbit.’”
"Everyone knows I love the Riddick character and I’m always working on it,” Diesel asserted. “It just takes five years to make another one because David Twohy and I are so precious about it.”

Now on to ALIEN VERSUS PREDATOR. Apparently there’s a petition floating around the internet that seeks to draft me as director of the next installment of the series. (It seems my old ALIEN 3 script figures into this master plan, too, in ways that aren’t entirely clear to me.) My reaction is “Hmm.” Flattering? Sure. Realistic? Not so much. See, if I’m going to spend a year of my life (and more if I write it) on the third installment of a science-fiction series, well, why wouldn’t I just do the third installment of my own science-fiction series? Catch my drift?

So what do you guys think? Are you excited for more Riddick movies? Personally, I loved Pitch Black and didn't think Riddick was that bad. He's certainly a character I enjoy watching on screen. The Riddick video game was also really, really good if you've never played it.

i really enjoy the riddick character and his adventures, (the best one being the game), and i hope that Twohy gets to finish what he started.

Vin is a washed up actor who has and will make worthless movies. This is the same guy who thought he was the next big action star. He turned his back on the Fast and Furious franchise years ago because he thought he was the shit. He learned real quick that he was not. Now he has his head between his tail begging to do sequals to all his bad movies. Babylon A.D. will be in theaters for only a week. I predict that the DVD will be released by Christmas in hopes to make some kind of profit. Vin, give it up! You stink, your movies stink, and your time in hollywood is over. Get back to bouncing clubs!

I agree with you George. The Riddick character intrigues me and I do enjoy watching the films. Escape From Butcher Bay was an extremely well put together game. I think I actually enjoyed it more than the films. I hope they (Deisel and Twohy) make these next two a bit better though.

More Riddick...Pitch Black Style Though

Pitch Black was a really well done movie...if they can keep the mood and feel closer to that movie then the sequels could rock. Chronicles wasn't a bad movie...it just didn't feel like the character in Pitch Black as much. But I for one, and I know everyone else that I know who has seen these movies would be pumped for more.

Chronicles of Riddick was an amazing science fiction film, and well deserving of another installment. As for Vin Diesel, he may be a prick, but this part is/was perfect for him.

The Cliffhanger at the end of chronicles was soo interesting I can't wait to see what happens... He's no the leader of the Warmongers Technically (or whatever they're called)
