UPDATED!
Due to the request of Sony, we have taken down the Spiderman casting story. The PR department, I mean the ENTIRE PR DEPARTMENT went into spin mode yesterday telling other webmasters throughout the net not to link to us. Control freaks. Not for nothing, Sony publicists have a history of lying to us, ie: Ghost Rider ComiCon Poster but, I'm not going to get into it right now.
My track record speaks for itself and I'm sticking to my guns on what I know. In my experience, when a PR department goes into overdrive at the SRVP level, there is some validity and truth to what is being said. It was really weird yesterday folks. Oh well, whatever.
If you ask me, I personally think they're going to offer Tobey Maguire bookoo dollars to reprise the role of Spiderman for another film or two. We're talking a ridiculous amount of money here folks. But hey you never know, and there has to be a plan b in case it doesn't work out. All I said was that they were putting together a list of names.
Anything is possible.

What they'll do is throw a very low-ball figure to a indie guy, and really F him over, so Tobey, not wanting to lose any potential of being in the film, his legacy, takes a lower figure to do the films. They do it all the time in movies.
