Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey is Bryan Singer's first choice for the role as Superman's arch enemy "Lex Luther." There is an offer on the table for Spacey, they are just trying to work around Spacey's schedule and it if works out he will take on the film role that was last played brilliantly by Academy Award winner, Gene Hackman in the Richard Donner directed "Superman" movie series.

I was told that Spacey and Routh recently did a screen test to observe how the two gifted actors played against each other, and that the filmmakers agreed that the test was absolutely amazing. So the part belongs to Spacey if he wants it and if he and his reps can come to an agreement, Kevin Spacey will be the next “Lex Luther: the greatest criminal mind of our time!”
